When you strip away all the bullshit it's all about greed. It's the same now as it was in Vietnam. These are wars waged to enhance the already engorged coffers of unprincipled American billionaires. All the horror and heartbreak of war for the shameless profiteering of a few - all of the death, destruction, and sacrifice; and the terrible cost in both treasure and blood - all to increase the obscene wealth of a handful of evil little men. In Iraq there are no noble democratic principles to die for, no grand causes, no WMDs, no exportation of democracy - only the lies of men so afflicted with money-lust that they don't care that their filthy lucre comes to them soaked in the blood of patriots and children. Emacs! Picture 1. The realization that these tragedies are intentionally perpetrated for such a base motive as monetary profit turns the heartbreak of decent human beings to outrage. Emacs! Picture 2. The terror on the faces of these children should be enough to ensure lasting worldwide peace. Sadly, it is not. Emacs! Picture 3. People who love children and peace are up against the ravenous appetites of people like this. Emacs! Picture 4. Other people's children must die by the thousands to guarantee that these guys never have to give up their champagne and caviar enemas. To add insult to injury, they've pretty much given up any pretense of honest endeavor. As with so many other things lately with this crowd, it has devolved to an in-your-face, nakedly aggressive act of outright criminality. And they just flat-out don't care if anybody doesn't like it.
