You should try to get this proposal up for discussion in the next TSG. I
think
there's still time to get it included in the agenda.

Looking for comments and input. If we want to get this before the TSG this week
we need to finalise the proposal this weekend.

Feedback appreciated even if it is just "looks fine to me, let's propose it".

Summary from the link:

Mission

The Repository Working Group (RWG) would define and oversee implementation of
the strategy for publishing community created software with the MeeGo project.

The goal of the RWG would be to unite the various community contributions
interested in applications& libraries, packaging, policy, QA processes,
building, etc.

We realise this is a wide scope but feel it should have coherent representation
in the community.

We propose 3 sub-groups to cover:

 * Repository: take responsibility for maintaining the applications
repository, the community supported packages repository (cf Ubuntu Universe) and
associated QA and policies for MeeGo,
 * Build: support administrative implementation with the Build System team
in
coordination with these goals,
 * Document: take responsibility for the MeeGo community packaging
documentation

The nature of this area means it would likely form a gateway to the inclusion of
packages in Meego Core and a community maintainable location for packages
removed from the Core.

Re: [MeeGo-dev] How to get screen active application in Meego

2010-03-27 Thread Zhang, Xing Z
My application is a sensor daemon supplying data to application, e.g.
accelerometer data.
If an application connects to my daemon, the daemon will poll driver in a high
sample rate which obviously kills power.
so if I could know which application is viewable to user, I could stop polling
since sensor awareness application is running at background
My thought is to write a context provider of window manager to provide such
feature.

Thank you your suggestion. I will take a look of Libwnck first.

[MeeGo-dev] Proposing topics to TSG meetings

2010-03-27 Thread quim.gil
Hi,

We have put a light process in place to propose topics for the Technical
Steering Group meetings:

http://wiki.meego.com/TSG_meetings

It is already valid for the next TSG meeting taking place next Wednesday (which
looks like it will be a busy MeeGo day). :)
