[MeeGo-dev] How to boot maemo with meego kernel?

2010-07-05 Thread 韩茂琨
Hi,

Has anyone tried to boot maemo5 with latest n900-kernel?
I have tried "http://gitorious.org/nokia-n900-kernel/nokia-n900-kernel"; rc3
branch compiled with original and current "rx51_defconfig" but without no good.

Thanks,
Maokun

[MeeGo-dev] N900 Acting roles during July and availability of others

2010-07-05 Thread harri.hakulinen
Hello,

During Finnish holiday season (July) the following acting roles are
set to secure efficient "MeeGo on N900" execution:

Ameay Palande is acting Team leader for N900 hardware adoption.
-
Carsten Munck is Acting N900 maintainer.
---

Other N900 team members that are working in July are:

Markus Lehtonen; upto 8 th of July,
Tuukka Makinen; upto 16th of July

Marko Saukko; 12th of July onwards
Sami Sirkia; 12th of July onwards
Teemu Tuominen; 26th of July onwards

Most people will be normally available starting from 2nd of August.

On N900 hw adaptation matters, please feel free to contact Ameya,
Carsten or others when they are available.

ps. In Finland we have long and dark winter season. Based on that,
most of the people are traditionally taking long summer break on
July in order to fill up vitamin D levels and to spend some time
 with their family.

Br,
//Harri

Please help improving http://wiki.meego.com/Devices - thank you!

There are actually several forum threads about this device model i.e.

http://forum.meego.com/showthread.php?t=230
http://forum.meego.com/showthread.php?t=284
http://forum.meego.com/showthread.php?t=599

Also please avoid cross-posting to several mailing lists. meego-dev is not
really a list for these topics. Please do not reply-all to this email now.

[MeeGo-dev] Meego works great on Asus eee 701 with non Atom CPU

2010-07-05 Thread Valent Turkovic
Hi,
I tested Asus eee 701 that has plain Intel Celeron CPU with both Meego
1.0 image and Fedora 13 with Moblin, both versions work 100% and
blazingly fast even on that small and underpowered device to
congratulations to all Meego/Moblin devels that you made such great
and fast code.

I saw info on Meego site saying that Atom CPU is needed, but Meego
works great on Asus eee 701. When I tried first version of Moblin it
was really pain to use on eee 701 but not it is blazingly fast, it is
amazing. My guess is that lot of optimization has also happened in
Intel open source graphics driver.

Congratulations once more for making Meego and thank you for all your hard work.

Valent.
