[MBZ] m117 vs M119

Part of the answer:

The M119 differed from the M117 in the following ways:

The engine block uses asbestos-free gaskets and has better oil flow
The cylinder head is now a 4-valve aluminum unit with dual overhead 
camshafts



So, if a M117 was shoe-horned in, the bigger heads of a M119 may not fit?

no info seems to be available about mounting or overall dimensions.

The M119 has under 100k miles.  Seems very desirable, but I don't want 
an expensive paperweight.  275 HP vs a strangled M116 sounds tempting.  
Might get 1 MPG better on the road.  5-10%...

[MBZ] 99 S420

I found a S420 I can buy cheap cheap.Is a 99 US model a 140 or a 
W220?  I think it is a 140, and the 220 would have been available in 99 
in yurp; then as a 2000 model in the USA.   At any rate, is is a 4.2, so 
I believe that is a M119.


I still don't know how that compares to a M116 in terms of mounting 
points.  I'd guess the engine and trans would bolt in.  They put a M117 
in the same chassis. (500, 560)  I also found a 126 560SEL for about 4x 
ass much money.  I know the M117 would bolt in.

A $500 starting bid is a bit "optimistic" fer sure!

I didn't think a 4 speed trans was worth that much.  Maybe if you sell 
the kit, trans, crossmember, drive shaft, new flex disks, Pedals, clutch 
master and tube, etc, all together it might be worth $500.  In order to 
come out on that, you have to get it delivered for $250.

Well, I guess if it was a 56hp 11CV, it's be a performance upgrade. 
And maybe a bit more performance than a 77hp 15CV six cylinder.

"Just finished" but the pictures are dated 2008.  Dated in Feb, but 
pictures are not Feb in IA.  There are no drifts of schnee.   Probably 
the dude never set the date on the new camera.


But it "runs grate"   Maybe he means it ran over a grate.  or maybe he 
carries a charcoal grate in the back...


On the other hand, the car looks like a miniature ford.
