The wiring issues were sorted out by 97, this has the M120 engine, same 
as my 95SL600 but without the wiring harness issues. That would be VERY 
fun to drive and I love the 140 coupes.  I would rather black/black but 
blue is nice too

Looks to have had a bit of front end damage, the hood doesn't seem to fit 
properly across the front and the grille is maybe pushed in a little, not to 
mention the taped-up bumper.

With the miles and damage seem more like a $2k car or so?

I don’t know about these for longevity, but I’ve been told they’re pretty 
robust otherwise. The price is in line with what I’ve seen in my market for 
similar cars based on mileage - their resale doesn’t seem to be all that great. 
They appear to be relatively cheap, cheap enough that I’ve been mildly temped 
to snag one just to have fun with it. I will say that they are surprisingly 
roomy in that I’m nearly 6’2” and can sit in one easily and have good 
visibility.

Lots of low mileage, dealer-maintained cars that sit around under a cover in a

Lo these many years ago I did a summer internship at NASA Langley in the 
real-time simulation group where we had this 737 cockpit simulator. There was a 
big room full of CDC top-end computers, 7600s, STAR 100s, a coupla Crays and 
such that drove that thing and did other stuff. 

There was another room that had this big analog computer in it. The thing was 
like 10ft tall and 15ft wide. There were only 3 guys left who knew how to 
program the thing. I visited and watched them one day do some kind of 
simulation. They were totally manic running patch cords and twisting knobs and 
whatever else. The guys were kinda crazy looking too, total old school 
engineers. There were lots of dials showing voltage or whatever. Paper rolls 
with pens marking out whatever outputs and inputs. It was all pretty crazy but 
that stuff got men to the moon and helped build some wild aircraft so I guess 
it worked. 

When those guys were gone that was probably the end of that technology too.

Shattered bumpers are very common. Something about the plastic they used that 
ages poorly. You barely tap something with a bumper or drop something on it 
while loading/unloading and it shatters like glass.
