I think I would rather have a E250 anyway.  Not much use for a small GLK.

[MBZ] Hey Jaime you’re the expert I think

2022-01-07 Thread Buggered Benzmail via Mercedes
This “new” 09S550 I got to fix up has a quirk in the COMAND Navi system. It
doesn’t seem to know where it is. Looks to be stuck someplace up around DC
where Pennsylvania Ave meets 95/495.That’s what shows on the home screen. I
think that’s where the car lived, more or less.

I put in my home address and it figured out where that was and how to get here
from DC, but it thinks it is not here. It says it can see 9 sats but thinks
it’s located at those DC coordinates.

There are 5 little boxes at the top right of the screen making me think
something is buggered with it, not sure what that’s about.

I know, RTFM (which I managed to find online somewhere as the actual paper
manuals were missing, MB doesn’t go back that far it seems with what is online)
but I would think once it booted up the system would know where it is. Is there
some way to force it to rethink its status? Or is it truly buggered somehow?

Re: [MBZ] wow. 1938 Mercedes-Benz,$12,000

2022-01-07 Thread Buggered Benzmail via Mercedes
I watched some recent vids the other day and yeah he’s getting a bit slower. I
was wondering the same thing. He has quite a collection plus some amazing
craftsmen in his restoration shop. I presume he’s got it all well-planned in
his final instructions, what that might be is the question but I think of some
sort of museum or something with cars that actually get used. Or I hope so
anyway.

Basically although mine was the "Magnum". I don't know if that's the same old
bottom end with newer heads/injection or if they really did something to
it.Solid engine though.
I've also been very happy with the 5.7l Hemi in the 2010 Dodge RAM. Mine has
the typical lifter tick that goes away right after an oil change and/or when
the engine is hot but otherwise it's been perfect for 165,000+ miles.

I’m betting there is stuff still available. Not sure what or how much of it,
but it never ceases to amaze me what you can still get.

This car has been sitting on this lot for a coupla months. I took a
quick look at it one evening at some point.  Looks decent but higher
miles, probably more like $3400 would be more realistic.  RWD

2022-01-07 Thread Floyd Thursby via Mercedes
This car looks pretty nice, probably not a big issue if you wanted to
fool with a gasser.  Probably has some good power too.

Great condition car. Lost spark. Has new distributor cap and rotor
button, coil and ignition control module. Needs tires. Tired of messing
with it and need it gone. No scams I don't have a Google voice account.
