Re: [MBZ] Car Disposal?
My $0.02 of advice based on that line of thinking would be to simply show up with title in hand and say... I don't want the broken wreck, you can have it for storage fees and say... $200.00 AND... I have the title right here, do you have a Notary on staff? If you do, give me $200.00, I'll sign it over to you and you'll own it legally. [Tip, the tow yard will spend $200 in time and effort {estimated} to clear the title and sell it, so it's not an unreasonable request] It's worth more to sell with a clear title, even to a rebuilder. Expect the towing yard to go hard ball and beat you up on the $200 number... so you might become "flexible" a little... but it's "negotiation time" so don't lift your Kimono too soon. At this instance, the car is taking up yard revenue space and not gaining a dime.. lot space has value... push your case "a little", and be ready to "walk away with title in hand" "Let them eat cake" in the famous words of a French woman... [I have done this dance a few times in multiple variations] On Wed, Jun 8, 2022 at 6:50 PM dan penoff.com via Mercedes < mercedes@okiebenz.com> wrote: > Thanks, Grant. > > In this situation I don’t think the neighbor has the slightest clue as to > how to recover it, nor would he want it.
