[MBZ] Fwd: No Reserve: 1970 Mercedes-Benz 220D 4-Speed now live on BaT
The folks at BAT feel I should be bidding on this. Little do they know if it were dark green, Palomino, and a manual I’d be on it like a hobo on a hot dog. Re: [MBZ] Runs on starting fluid - 74 450SL - $2,500
A 1977 or later exhaust manifold will bolt right up, then install the later exhaust system and you are good to go. BTDT (almost, '75 block in a '78 SLC). Yes - the manual HVAC would be a really nice plus - worth changing the exhaust manifold and system for IMHO. 75 is the absolute pinnacle of worstness. 76 isn’t much better. Underhood temperatures due to the retrofitted cats destroys anything rubber, meaning the 100 or so (yeah, I’m exaggerating) little bits of rubber fuel line tend to deteriorate and leak, often leading to an inferno. -D > On Jun 29, 2022, at 6:00 PM, Rick Knoble via Mercedes > wrote: > > > Either 74-75, or 75-76 are the worst years ever for 107 cars.
