I ended up double nutting it and removed the stud and installed on the new one. I do not think I am going to replace the rear one as from what I can tell they never go bad and usually never get replaced anyway. Plus it appears it requires a ton of disassembly to get to it. I just realized the replacement expansion valve I got in the Rock Auto kit does not have the required stud on the front of it for the line clamp plate or whatever you call it. It appears to have a hole tapped for it. All the other expansion valves I have seen for sale have the stud. WTF? Do I attempt to transfer the stud from the old valve to the new one? Otherwise I am at a dead stop until I get a different valve, or just leave the current valve in there. I would replace the expansion valve. For the stud, get a screw of the right threads and length, cut off the head, put some blue Loctite on it, and thread it into the new expansion valve. I would also replace the rear expansion valve.
