No, not at all. I had the same discrepancy in my 83 300 TD although that car had the transmission replaced with one from a 1985 300d. I always assumed that the mismatched transmission might have had something to do with the speedometer being inaccurate. I observed that my '85 300SD speedometer is about 10% below the actual vehicle speed, starting at 45 mph and above. I recently had the odometer repaired but the tech was unable to explain the discrepancy. Any suggestions? There are no records of the po having worked on this. Could this be an issue with the speedometer cable? Other than the godawful tedium of the color scheme, there are no obvious issues. The '85 models seldom have rust from my experience, and the engines are indestructible. If you buy it I can advise on repair issues and parts availability. I actually set one up and uploaded a bunch of vids on various cars but I’m completely ignorant of editing and so I guess watching them would be kinda sucky. I need to take the time to learn to do that and get them polished up and loaded. My daughter’s BF does that for a living (engineer and general doer at a TV station) but I don’t think he has a big urge to do it when he gets home.
