Just don't expect any of these cheapo video systems to work for more than a 
couple of years. Either the hardware will fail or the company providing the app 
and services will vanish.

My dad's executor met my mom at the Secretary of State branch office 
(Michigan's DMV).
Mom brought the titles, executor brought ID and proof of appointment, 
and they had him sign the titles over to her. As I watched the 
transaction, I remembered that the title to the motorcycle I bought when 
I was 16 was at my house and still has dad's name on it.

That was 2 1/2 years ago, I've got to remember to get it transferred.

A friend of mine recently rebought his first car. Sold it 30 years ago 
when he got married. Found one just like it, went to look at it hoping 
it might be his old car.
Not only was it his old car, it was still titled in his dead 
stepfather's name. (so the state no longer has any record readily 
accessible record of ownership, titles weren't in a computer database 
back then) Hadn't been driven much or ever been registered since he sold 
it.


Imagine buying a car that a dead guy signed the transfer section on the 
title 30 years ago. I don't know if he dated it when he signed it. If 
it's dated, I assume you'd just need to pay the fee for failure to apply 
for title within 30 days of purchase and complete the transfer as if you 
were the guy who bought it 30 years ago. The good news is that if it's 
transferring directly from stepfather to stepson, there's no sales tax.

so a guy dies without a will and the family then sorta split up his
stuff, but with a car it is kinda problematic if they want to sell it.
If they just want to drive it they can just keep paying the tag fees and
insurance and I doubt if the DMV is organized enough to catch that the
guy is dead.  Maybe even the insco doesn't care as long as they're
collecting the monthly nut.

I'm not sure how one would go about getting a title, a court would have
to deal with that and who knows how long and how much effort that would
take.

I talked to the guy a little while ago, I had asked him if he could 
clone a "new" ISM for the ML63.  He says sure, leave it on the car and 
he will do a full download of the car's brains then reflash the "new" 
ISM I got off the the knackered ML350. And it will be a freebie!!!  But 
I have to take the car to him which won't be a big deal as it is still 
on the trailer.  So that is on my agenda for soon.


This guy knows all the electronics stuff, has been doing it for years, 
so he is a good resource and a really nice guy.


And he says the AMG GT S is an absolutely brutal beast and he will give 
me the experience.  WOOHOOO  He has remapped the ECU on it but still 
has more to do on it as at 1400HP the ECU thinks it is getting too much 
boost even though he has mapped out the pressure sensors...

I think that is if you want to store your vids in their cloud but you 
can also have them on your phone or device.  I think there was an option

The router is in the house so I guess the signal is pretty good for the 
cams to pick up.  I put them all around the eaves and on decks, I think 
I put 6 up then a doorbell too.  We had no problems getting them all 
configured -- you do that first through the app before mounting them and 
then you can watch the aiming on your phone through the app.  It was 
quite easy.

so a guy dies without a will and the family then sorta split up his
stuff, but with a car it is kinda problematic if they want to sell it.
If they just want to drive it they can just keep paying the tag fees and
insurance and I doubt if the DMV is organized enough to catch that the
guy is dead.  Maybe even the insco doesn't care as long as they're
collecting the monthly nut.

I'm not sure how one would go about getting a title, a court would have
to deal with that and who knows how long and how much effort that would
take.

That's what I did.  Numerous vehicles, it was fairly painless.  The licensing 
agent
knows all how to do this, you just walk in with the necessary paperwork, and
transfer away!  (Letters testamentary, death certificate, etc.)  I doubt a week 
goes
by when they don't have to do at least one of these.  When I was done,
the various vehicles went to the various beneficiaries, or other third parties.

hasn't had time to sort it.  He scanned it and it was def a SBC issue.
Told him to call MB, he did, and they are coming to pick it up to fix
it.  He was amazed!  I should charge a consulting fee.

If I didn't already have a wagon I'd have been all over that, offered
$2500 and see if he bit.  He probably got it cheap given the problem.
