I figured that to be the case.

Mine seems a little sloppy in that if you’re coasting and put your foot to it 
there’s a noticeable “clunk” in the front drivetrain. It’s not troubling to me 
as I’ve adjusted my driving habits to accommodate, but I’m aware of it.

It might involve dropping the front subframe a bit, in which case you 
would need to have a hoist on the engine or something to hold it up.  
I'll take a look at the front subframe I dropped off the ML350 parts car 
and see how tight it is up in there.


Todd has a 2014? E350 4m or something that needs a front diff, said he 
would sell it to me for cheap as the owner basically walked away from 
it, that one definitely has to drop the subframe to get at it.  It's 
probably fairly straightforward to do it but a few more steps involved
