[MBZ] OT booting from a floppy
OK, got this computer that runs xp that has been screwing up now wont boot because its missing a file. OK, no big deal I think. I will make a boot disk an copy the file in from dos and see what happens. Wrong. Computer boots up but will not let me switch to the partition I need to get to the windows directory. The computer in question appears to have some sort of restore files on the C partition, and the rest on D. The reason the file is missing is because I tried to do the compaq restore thing and it crashed and didnt work now it wont boot. So I wanted to go in and put whatever is missing and see what happens. Next step is to just wipe everything out and do a fresh install. Why cant I switch to the D partition with my boot disk? Is there something that should be on there that I am forgetting about? I have not messed around with this stuff in a while and have forgot more about dos that what most people today probably know. --- Kaleb C. So my Phillips Magnavox 60 bigscreen that I have had for about 8 years has been acting up. Had somebody come out and look at it today and they say it needs a new high voltage (?) signal board, and some sort of cooling fluid or something is cloudy which causes the picture to be not as good as it should be. I have never heard of fluid in a TV. They want $1200 to fix it so I will probably be looking for a HDTV from the info I got in the last thread about TV's. Anybody know how to remove the center console wood on a 140? I cant seem to figure it out. It looks like the ash tray needs to come out but I cant seem to get it out either. Will leaking delivery valve seals on a 2.5t cause low power? I have one that has 240D like performance at times it seems, has bad leaking seals, but runs great.
