Hunt for them on the Bay of Fleas. I would come across some of the early navigation discs at PnP. The market for them is not that active, as the cars that used them are garbage now. The W220 used one form of disc from 2000-2003, then upgraded IIRC. Best to just use your phone at this point. clay monroe > I turned my computer upside down and shook it, but the bookmark for what I'm > looking for didn't fall out. > On Apr 23, 2019, at 12:11 PM, Dwight Giles via Mercedes > wrote: > > Command unit. Re: [MBZ] ***SPAM*** Re: if you were looking for an E320CDI
this is exactly why all that garbage in new cars is just that. Garbage. At best, the car should have a place to plug in a touch screen of a standard size, (ipad) with a standard interface (USB) and you can run the crap software from the automaker if you want, or run your own gps, etc. Dwight Giles via Mercedes wrote on 4/23/19 3:11 PM: Command unit. I am also sure I don't really fully use the capacity of the command system. I just a new one put in-old one failed at 170k miles. Dwight E. Giles Jr 1982 300CD 2005 E320 4matic. Command unit. Have to be careful here as Jaime was one of the designers of this. One of the highlights at the Q a couple years ago is that Jaime pushed some buttons on my unit and we saw a screen with his name on it as one of the creators. I like the buttons all in one place are very handy. My challenge has been getting navigation discs for it. When I first got the car a couple years ago a I called dealer to update the map discs and was told that I had to buy a whole set not just the most recent one and that the cost was several hundred dollars IIRC. So I use my phone GPS. If anyone knows how to get discs and no pay a fortune I would love to have the navigation running. A friend has a 2011 R350 and the navigation is nice. I am also sure I don't really fully use the capacity of the command system. I just a new one put in-old one failed at 170k miles. Dwight E. Giles Jr 1982 300CD 2005 E320 4matic.
