With the lights on, the radio doesn't draw much... There's a reason car battery chargers stop at 10A. Motorcycle battery chargers are more like 2A. -- Jim ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

I had trouble charging motorcycle batteries at 10a. When I had my CB900 it needed everything a battery could provide, after a couple of weeks sitting it'd need a charge. A couple times I rushed it at 10a and boiled it, oops... Two issues with high rate charging, heat and hydrolysis. Run it too hot and plates can warp. Excess voltage makes the water in your electrolyte go bye-bye. Probably the best bet is a 6-10A charger that slowly tapers down to 2-4A at full charge and then shuts itself off. ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
