I can concur on the tightness of the engine compartment and how difficult
it is to do things on it.

Most of the performance of the E500, for a LOT less $$$.

If you like a 124, and are going to pay someone else to wrench on it (no
fun at all, that V8 is really crammed into a small engine compartment, ask
Craig about fixing things on that engine), you'd probably really enjoy an
E420.

A guy I know has a 94 E420 with only 70,000 miles - one owner, spotless 
condition.   Did the 124 have an evap issue in 94?   Any other particular 
trouble spots I should ask about?  I don't know if I am seriously interested, 
but I know a few others that are wondering about the car, if I pass on it.  
Unfotunately, its in California, so I can't check out in person.
