Most of the performance of the E500, for a LOT less $$$. If you like a 124, and are going to pay someone else to wrench on it (no fun at all, that V8 is really crammed into a small engine compartment, ask Craig about fixing things on that engine), you'd probably really enjoy an E420. - Max Charleston SC On Sat, Aug 27, 2016 at 6:56 PM, Donald Snook via Mercedes < mercedes@okiebenz.com> wrote: > Yes! Yes! Holy cow isn't that a nice car! The price has me concerned. I think all 124 cars suffer from evaporator and wiring harness issues. Wiring harness if not already replaced will probably need to be. [MBZ] 124 E420
A guy I know has a 94 E420 with only 70,000 miles - one owner, spotless condition. Did the 124 have an evap issue in 94? Any other particular trouble spots I should ask about? I don't know if I am seriously interested, but I know a few others that are wondering about the car, if I pass on it. Unfotunately, its in California, so I can't check out in person.
