[MBZ] 124 TD valuation

2005-11-07 Thread Loren Faeth
If anyone can email me recent sale info (or links) regarding high-dollar 87
TDs, I would appreciate it very much. I am sure the ins company will have
some ridiculously low value for the car. I don't suppose i could be lucky
enough to have them shut up and fix the car.

Check out the values at the NADA website. Their values are much more
realistic than Kelly Blue Book, etc - and they provide 3 different quotes.
It's been my experience that insurance companies use NADA more than KBB.

My 87 300D took out a deer under the previous owner's watch, and the
repair was paid for by the insurance company. As long as you haven't damaged
stuff that can't be easily unbolted, you shouldn't have TOO big of a fight.
TDs are worth more than Ds on the market, and replacing a nice TD is difficult.

[MBZ] 124 TD rear spring/pads & rear space heating

2005-08-27 Thread Joe Knight
Just checking the epc to figure out what springs and pads I'll need to
order to accomodate the extra weight I'll be carrying when I install
the factory hitch that I've got coming from Germany. I was curious to
see that there's a small points surcharge for vehicles with rear
space heating which appears to be an optional feature that directs
conditioned air to the rear seat footwell and cargo areas. My ride
doesn't appear to have this feature & I'm just wondering if it's at
all common in MBNA spec TD's.

Also, it looks as though I'll have to order the springs, then wait to
see if I get red or blue marked to determine which pads I'll need.
This sound correct?
