I may go look at this car tomorrow. I did a drive by today (I didn't have time to dawdle) and other than the exterior being dirty it looked OK. It's a 2001 E55 AMG, it's got 143k on the clock, three owners with full dealer records up until about a year ago. Florida car, delivered in Pompano in 2001 and lived there until a year ago, where the records stop. At that time it went to SC and came back here as a repo, or so it appears. I know little or nothing about the W210 chassis, so please enlighten me about places I should look. I would expect to have a PPI done at MB or Tampa if I am interested, but I would do a preliminary go-over myself to see if there's anything that would eliminate it out of the gate. Just look for rust everywhere. There really is not a lot I can think of to watch out for. They are pretty easy to work on and lots of info is available online. You must have the sds to work in it but you already have that so you are set.
