Why did one only go 50k with the other two going 100k? Call me a
skeptic, but why wouldn't they plan on all of them going the full
distance? Something happened - or did I read the article wrong?

I saw a report somewhere else that mentioned they got 17 mpg, on that
run.  Pretty impressive, considering the speed.

That's because the electronics haven't had time to age.

Seems M/B ran 3 E320CDI for 100,000 mile on  a test track.  They have
been recognized by the FIA with a host of record.

Average speed?  139.699 mph

They sat on the Rev Limiter at 146 mph

No breakdowns.
