Marshal Booth was a incredible resource for Mercedes Benz car knowledge.

You can say that again. Hard to believe he has been gone for what, 10 years
now?

Time flies.

Sure!

I just put them on http://host-a.net/fmiser

Called "tire-valve-stem", there is a PDF that any device should be
able to open, and a .ods spreadsheet.

If any of you have more information, let me know and I'll share the
update too. *smiles*

How about posting a link to your chart so we may benefit from your work?

[MBZ] A souvenir?

2016-09-07 Thread fmiser via Mercedes
Floyd's little trailer tar problem happen to coincide with my own
wheel project which has me hunting for - and trying to grock -
valves stems.

They are primarily identified by the "industry number", which is a
arbitrarily assigned three-digit number. There is no overall
pattern correlating the number to hole size, length, or install
method.

I have made myself a chart, drawn from half a dozen sources 'cause
I couldn't find one place that lists 'em all.

Along the way, I found this site - with a "review" of a TR572
(0.625" hole, 3.75" long, clamp-in) valve stem.

Every single review could be used for almost any product. But the
"expert review" at the top is the most amusing of the lot!

Some excerpts:
"I have to bring to light the fact I’m a tricky client."

"It looks awesome, it smells normal, it feels well-made..."

"Had it not been ordered as a souvenir, I would instantly find
[it] a decent use in my own family."

So if you have ever wondered if some product reviews might be fake,
here's one to ponder.
