[MBZ] ABS Brake Bleeding
Because its been too long since I have done this, I have to ask: Can you vacuum bleed, using a MityVac, an ABS system? I may have a pressure bleeder available, but if not, I do have a MityVac with a bleeder jar. Re: [MBZ] ABS Brake Bleeding
Depends on what you're doing I think. In some cases you might not have to bleed the system at all. I did the calipers on my '03 Ford Ranger (with ABS) and didn't need to do more than a normal bleed, pump the pedal and open the bleeder. I talked to a guy about it and he said as long as the reservoir never went dry the ABS would also never go dry and no special bleeding would be required. -Curt Date: Mon, 20 Feb 2012 08:59:26 -0500 From: Dan Penoff lwb...@yahoo.com To: Mercedes List mercedes@okiebenz.com Subject: [MBZ] ABS Brake Bleeding Message-ID: 822b7b92-320b-4025-8212-96266de05...@yahoo.com Content-Type: text/plain;charset=us-ascii Because its been too long since I have done this, I have to ask: Can you vacuum bleed, using a MityVac, an ABS system? TIA, Dan Dan, You want a pressure bleeder set to about 30 PSI- be careful to cover the reservoir in case the grommets let go (but if on the 300e those should be newer- MC was replaced not too long before I got the car). Also get the bleed nipple at the pump!
