I do know that Rusty sells Bosch aftermarket afterglow relays; I installed one in our 240D/3.0. Thank you, I read all the historical mail about the violet/purple wire and will wire up a switch to flip between summer & winter. A preglow (new OR used) relay that has sat without use for a months or years will be FAR less reliable than one that's been regularly used. Disuse is about as bad abuse as it's possible to inflict on that device.
