Disturbs the inmates if I’m up that early banging around. And it wouldn’t cool 
off for some time into the evening.

Saturday I should be able to get up there before the sun comes up, however. 
Youngest son blows out for work early, and I think oldest son is going out of 
town. If he’s not up early he should be.

It's dark in the attic.  So why wait for the sun to be up.  Do it
between 22:00 and 7:00.

Absolutely for this part of the world, however, in the “winter” around here 
when it’s in the 50s and 60s even on a sunny day the attic space isn’t bad at 
all. That’s what I was hoping for.

Early morning before the sun hits the roof, that's my approach to any
work in the attic, at pretty much any time of year.

That’s a possibility. I’ve been battling a cold the wife gave me last week, and 
climbing around amongst rafters while feeling less than 100% is not something 
I’m interested in doing. If I feel good by the weekend I’ll probably tear into 
this Saturday morning. I’ve been wanting to get it done for several weeks now.

The SL driver window went inop last week sometime. Just now CHECKED THE 
FUSES!!! Looked ok, I jiggled it a bit, window worked. Yay me!

It is warm and very humid here. Fuse block had lots of condensation on it. I’m 
sure all the cars are getting internal baths.

[MBZ] CHECK YOUR FUSES -- SL600 funs

I replaced the driver window fuse in the new SL600 and joy!  It's 
al! It has this thing where the window drops about a half 
inch when you open it, then it closes again.  I need to get some of the 
copper or brass fuses, it has the crappy aluminum ones in it and they 
are kinda corroded.  I think I have a stash in the parts bins.  
Interesting, I noticed the top motor fuse is a 30A strip fuse, looks 
like the glow plug fuse on the diesels.


Love those cheap (free!  I used a fuse I scavenged off the knackered 
420SEL) fixes.


Ordered new spheres for the rear suspension, they are only about $80 
each so not a bad expenditure, that is probably what is wrong with the 
saggy bottom and rock hard ride.  Also put a liter of majik juice in the 
hydraulic tank, which was empty (likely related to the same issue), will 
take it out to see what is up and check it out for leaks.  I need to get 
it off the trailer today.


Also dumped in a quart of oil to bring it up to the mark, don't know if 
it will be happier or not.  Damn thing takes 3 gallons to change the 
oil!!!  I don't even know where the filter is yet, nothing apparent on 
top of the engine, and there is NO ROOM in there for much of anything 
besides engine.


The PO put a really nice Alpine stereo in it, has built-in bluetooth and 
ifone integration, little microphone you can make calls on it using
