Western states have a history of boom/bust cycles and perhaps when
prices (which are dropping) reach $XX the boom might bust? Maybe the
Geographic article is online too - quite an important piece of

Re: [MBZ] Car delivery jobs?

2014-11-11 Thread Mountain Man via Mercedes
I don't recall the original WILTON son experience, but my son
mentioned FAA hires many in that fatal sin arena of 54+ - perhaps
FAA requires aircraft experience. Maybe the WILTON BUFF experience
can pull some rank for son?

My added spin is that I complain about the diss that is shown to
workers aged 50+ that include me but I think us old folk need to step
aside and let the young ones have jobs/income/earnings/investments
that we might gather. We made it to 50+ and perhaps if we don't step
aside the young ones might not make it to 50+? Actually, maybe I'm
depressed, but I don't really care anymore to be here. Things seem
too messed up and seem to be getting there faster than getting better
and that is probably an old-guy depression mode thing rather than a
problem in the workforce needs. I mean, I had my day in the sun
making a paycheck, so... let someone else have a crack at it. My
literal net worth is $0 and unless a gifting happens, nothing will
make that net worth improve. Decent health is my biggest net worth
and I don't need insco taking premiums from the the social security.
Savings for retirement never happened nor did any investments - we ate
what we earned and here we are just like the majority of people ever
on the planet. Insco/retirement/investments seem to be big today, but
99% of the planet has none - I'm in good company so I let the young
ones take any earnings that I might want.

[MBZ] Car delivery jobs?

2014-11-09 Thread WILTON via Mercedes

Unemployed, 54-year-old son, (former land surveyor, welder, restaurant cook)
who lives near Spring Hope, NC, (40 miles or so east of Raleigh, NC) is needing
a job badly; unemployed for a year now since the restaurant where he worked
closed.

Has good driving record; in good health.

'Graduated from Wilson, NC, Com. College heavy equip. program with GPA of 4.0
in '82; honor student in Culinary Arts at Nash Com. College '09-'11.

I began to wonder today about jobs delivering cars. Anybody in Raleigh-Durham
area (or else where) know anybody at a dealership who may need somebody to
deliver cars?

I recall reading on http://www.elkharttruth.com/, the website of The
Elkhart Truth, Elkhart, Indiana's newspaper, that there was quite a
dramatic shortage of drivers to take recreational vehicles to dealers.

If he is interested, he should contact the newspaper or one of the
manufacturers of RVs (motor homes, trailers, and such).
