In Saigon you can visit the presidential palace and in the basement there is
a finnie, which was used a staff car. There is also a Huey parked on the
roof which was used by the then president to go for rides around the place.
Also there is a couple of T 56 tanks parked in the garden, not the real ones
that broke the gates down (one of the real ones is in the army museum in
Hanoi). However you can still see the tank track marks in the bitumen near
the gates.

Don't know about China but there where quite a few MB's (mostly C and E
class, 124's, 201's and 202's; I did see one 123 and one 116) in Saigon
 and
a lot of MB vans (some of which are made in Korea) and most of the
 transit
buses are MB powered. So MB has quite a presence in Vietnam. I would
 guess
that there is about 5-6 MB's for every other luxury brand.

One of my favorite lines in the movie The Killing Fields about the Khmer
Rouge takeover of Cambodia is Mercedes... Number one.

Actually a black Audi A6 is the new bicycle. They are everywhere in
China, while Mercedes are somewhat uncommon (VW/Audis are built locally
while Mercedes face huge import duties). It is hard to think of a
better People's Car for the New China.

Most Mercedes look like this:
