I ordered two.  I already have the HF hand-free thing with the roach clips and
magnifying glass, but that's too awkward to use in a car, for example.

Yeah probably but 2 clicks and $8 for a specialty tool that has some good 
features is a lot easier than screwing around building something (says this 
cheapass)

Oh I _like_ the look of that.  Maybe I need one?  I've heard those stories 
about crimp vs solder.
I still solder, when it really matters.  Probably the very best would be to 
crimp, using a non-insulated
barrel, solder after that, then pot in RTV and heat-shrink over that.

I hate crimp connectors because of how they look but I've heard that crimp 
connections are actually better than solder for cars where the wires might be 
moving around or subject to vibration.

I'd still probably solder and shrink wrap if it were me though.
