Our dog-like Bombay cats treat gluten free scones as chew toys, going so far as to lever open the toaster oven door to retrieve and savage them. They also love to animate any pencil-shaped or lenticular objects, such as a string bean or mature okra pod. Yes, Dax is an idiot in this regard. He's just gone back to crate lock-down when not supervised. I have found several articles of clothing chewed, and a pair of pricey flip flops. I have found, more than once, an article of clothing in his droppings. This past weekend we took a little road trip. We came back out to the car to find liquid diarhea spread around the car. During cleanup I found what appeared to be a sock or pair of underwear in the waste. Dogs vary so much within any given breed, just as do people. My last Dobie, Magnum, was fantastic about not doing stupid, doggie things. I could leave a treat on the dash and go in to work for hours at a time. The treat would still be there. No specific training required - he was just a great pet. Though one time I have to admit that Magnum was in the bathroom with me when I had used the toilet (yes, used it thoroughly), then stepped into the shower without flushing. When I came out of the shower, the toilet was empty of any solid waste and there were droplets of water on the rim and floor. Makes me want to gag just recalling it. And you thought you had too much information already. Funny, My Dobie, Dax, is also very serious in some ways, but he does the same thing - the rolling on the back and playing with the air while grumbling. He sometimes puts his two front paws together and moves them toward the ceiling repeatedly. When he's done with all this he snaps back to the paws-down position with a great whip. Timothy, Search the archives and find the thread that has the words in its title "dog saves day". I shared with the list the experience of my pooch getting me into my locked truck twice in the same week. Yes, I'm trying to get some more mileage out of that story. Wembley, my wire hair was an "alcoholic." You had to be careful setting a cocktail on the coffee table. He could distinguish a Budweiser can from a cola. I left him in the car once to run into the bank. When I returned he'd gotten into the groceries in the rear seat, pulled out a can of beer, punctured the can with his teeth and was lapping the beer from the MB-Tex. (See... I still managed to include MBZ in a dog story.) > From: "Kevin Kraly" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Reply-To: Mercedes Discussion List > Date: Wed, 12 Dec 2007 00:10:06 -0800 > To: "Mercedes Discussion List" > Subject: Re: [MBZ] Dog's near-fatal accident > > We had a little Terrier mix who happened to step on the door lock button in > our '94 Ford pickup. Dog/MB thread... I'd taken the three dogs on a ride and left the a/c running while I ran into a convenience store. The Joeldog doesn't like chewing on anything other than rawhide bones. At guide dog school, he was given a Nylabone which he'll chew occasionally, but he won't even tug on his tug ring even when it's put into his mouth! I got him to play with it a few times in the beginning, but he'll just walk away from it now. My previous dogs would growl and tug until my arm couldn't take it anymore, but Joel is too serious for that. He does like to roll on his back with his feet in the air and make all kinds of grumbling noises as his tail slaps against the floor, silly doggie! Kevin in Hillsboro, OR 1983 300Sd 266Kmi, Ursula PS. Joel still thinks that the SD's back seat is the most comfortable in the fleet although it could use a bit more spring, one of the many little projects that will get addressed once the 'Sol is driven out of the shop and the SD goes in. ___ http://www.okiebenz.com For new parts see official list sponsor: http://www.buymbparts.com/ For used parts email [EMAIL PROTECTED] To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
Re: [MBZ] Dog's near-fatal accident
Fritz, some kind of rescued wire haired Lab mix has almost outgrown stealing golf shoes, baseball gloves and such from neighbors' garages. It only became a problem when neigihbors began giving her treats and enticing her into their yards. She did teach the neighborhood children to put away their to were through with play. The only problem now is that should a stranger come around she would show him where the spare house key is hidden. Just to inject something MBZ in the thread, Fritz tree'd the Hatthaway's cat (Hatthaway as in "Miss Jane." The two women next door have a great bass boat, envy of most of the guys in the community) on top of one of the 300s a few mornings ago. The cat did quite a number on the clearcoat. The girls (neighbors) insisted they should pay for the damage but it wasn't a big deal as I'd just gotten an estimate to have the car repainted anyway. > From: "Bill " <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Reply-To: Mercedes Discussion List > Date: Tue, 11 Dec 2007 23:19:01 -0500 > To: "'Mercedes Discussion List'" > Subject: Re: [MBZ] Dog's near-fatal accident > > You guys are making me really appreciate my 100+ lb Yellow Lab.
