Re: [MBZ] Driveshaft options

For my 1999 300D I got a used driveshaft and it had vibrations as well. I
finally took old driveshaft and had it rebuilt.

To tell the truth though, that was almost a year ago and I still have not
put the new driveshaft in the car

Many years ago, I bought a new one for the '76 300D. No, I don;t remember
how much it was, but it was too much. Never had another minute of trouble
with it for the next 150,000 miles though.

What is the best option for replacement?

I sent my (107) driveshaft to the shop in Portland, OR
that is one of the ones that will do those.

well, I have a spare, but it's in the wrecked car and I've not
inspected it for damage -- very likely bent.

I would be interested in the spare, though.

What is the biggest metro area close to you? Someone there may be
able to do MB shafts. Probably easier/cheaper to buy a used shaft.
Most driveshaft shops won't touch an MB shaft.

I have a spare 87 300D driveshaft I would sell. ujoint is good in it.

Replace the carrier and bearing and rear flex disk in the 300D
tonight, but also found that the drive shaft u-joint is really bad.
