because mercedes was marketed in teh USA as luxury cars, they are thought of as such, but in most of the world, a 240D is a utilitarian taxi cab On Mon, Jul 14, 2014 at 7:30 PM, archer75--- via Mercedes mercedes@okiebenz.com wrote: Gerry wrote: It was obviously the reliable, trouble free Mercedes that saved them. No no no Gerry, you missed it entirely. Barack Hussein Obama saved her, DESPITE the fact that they owned a Mercedes. What a great guy!!! We all just need to swallow our pride, get in the Benz, and go get our free stuff from The Government. The State is great, it is my fate... Ahh the house poor. Growing up in the '80s and early '90s in an affluent suburb there were so many families around us with a huge house and a BMW but no furniture... I own 4 old jalopies and have a house I can afford. In fact when we bought the house I asked for $180,000 pre-approval. The woman at the bank tried to give us $300,000 but I stuck to my guns and got a mortgage I thought we could afford. Glad I did it too. -Curt From: archer75--- via Mercedes mercedes@okiebenz.com To: Mercedes Discussion List mercedes@okiebenz.com Sent: Monday, July 14, 2014 7:30 PM Subject: [MBZ] Food Stamps and a Mercedes Gerry wrote: It was obviously the reliable, trouble free Mercedes that saved them. For years, when driving trough the countryside around here, I kept asking SWMBO, Where are all of these 30 and 35-year-old guys getting so much money for these 300-500 k$ houses? Then, 3 or 4 years ago, my questions were answered. Whenever SWMBO seemed impressed by them, I reminded her that many of them have/had no furniture in some of the rooms. BTW, anybody else notice how so many of those houses have been trying to out-gable each other?
