Yes, the implication is that they replaced the stock air suspension with “coilovers”, which are nothing more than a shock absorber with a spring on the outside like a McPherson strut, sort of. This is commonly done by people who are not bright enough to troubleshoot the system and get it working as intended. The same thinks happens with models that have “ABC”, or Active Body Control such as my and Floyd’s CL500/600. These cars have hydraulic suspension rather than air but is functionally similar and the same retrofit is often performed by people who are idiots in general. What do steel suspension mean? They eliminated the air shocks? I was thinking that’s a lot of miles, but then remembered this is 20 years old. Seems like a lot of things have been rigged up.
