[MBZ] Hero tool of the day

2008-11-15 Thread harry watkins
My magnetic floor sweep. I dropped a small nut that naturally went into the
cat litter under the car and within two inches of center (as always). Strong
light, on my belly, no luck. Then I remembered buying one of those floor
sweeps, rolled it under the car and heard the click, done.

Yeah, I bought one of those and then thought to myself that I'd probably never
use it.

Re: [MBZ] Hero tool of the day

2008-11-17 Thread R A Bennell
Could have used one of those recently in a parking lot. Went to a local parts
store a couple of months back to get
a cover for my boat. Went back to the car to get in and managed to drop the key
when I pulled it out of the door
lock. First off all, the key is just the metal part as the plastic part has
broken and I have not got to gluing
some wood on the end as planned (like Wilton). It was also really windy. The
key ended up smack dab in the middle
under the car. I am dressed for work in a suit and tie so reluctant to get on
my hands and knees to crawl under.
Looked around briefly to see if there was anyone at a car close by who might
have something I could use to reach
under. No luck. Car door was unlocked however, so I looked inside and saw the
"Club" steering wheel lock doodad.
Used it to reach under and drag the key out and was on my way. Got to fix that
key.

Everything always does, NASA uses this technique to calibrate their
