I have had no problem aligning glove box lids on 123's, it is a matter of 
understanding the design. I found two small screwdrivers and a larger one 
work wonders for those weird nuts.

 and his Cotswolds Screwdriver*; it would come off only by reversing the

 Is he talking about the same glove box lid as my TD has?  Huh?  That
 will not stay aligned, the light tends to come on randomly, the latch
 barely engages... and this after multiple efforts at fixing it.  Oh, and
 those screws with the slots separated by non-slots.
