Re: [MBZ] Mercedes Digest, Vol 84, Issue 19 Re: Rich Thomas Buddy Cianci
That is great news (to me anyway). For some reason, either I thought I read it somewhere, or someone told me, a coupla years ago that Buddy had passed on. Is he still making the sauce? You gotta love the criminal pols... My BIL had a job in Providence at one time some years ago, managing the final construction and bringing on-line a new hotel. He had to organize all the services, food and beverage, etc. One of his tasks was to get a trash hauler, so he interviewed some, got bids, selected one. Then his boss comes and tells him he will be using Company X for the trash hauling. Sorry, boss, we already have a contract with Company Y, they'll sue us if we cancel it. OK then you will use both. WTF? So anyway, Company Y would come and empty the dumpster as contracted, haul off the trash. A little while later a Company X truck would show up and empty an empty dumpster, he paid both every month... Similar thing with the liquor supplier, only the one he was told to use was quite a bit more expensive than the one he had selected. He caught on after a while as to what the whole deal was about, who the "investors" were, who the suppliers were, who the "owners" were --R On 11/4/12 7:24 PM, Ronald Courcy wrote: To set things straight Buddy Cianci is alive and well he does a political television commentary everyday on a local television station. As far as Rhode Island drivers go, I do not think they are the worst in the world but they are certainly close in the competition. Turn signals are for decoration and not to be used because of course everyone knows already where you are attempting to put your car. Speed limits are really just suggestions, and amber traffic lights are a challenge to the drivers ability to press down on the loud pedal. I of course always obey the speed limit and immediately stop when I encounter an amber light, yeah right!! I do however religiously use directional singles. I think I am an exception on that count. Personally I dislike turn signals unless they add extra visibility in inclement weather. I don't see how they provide any useful information. Then again, I come from a state where they aren't required in all circumstances. :-) On Sun, Nov 4, 2012 at 5:24 PM, Ronald Courcy wrote: > > To set things straight Buddy Cianci is alive and well he does a > political television commentary everyday on a local television station. > > As far as Rhode Island drivers go, I do not think they are the worst in > the world but they are certainly close in the competition. > Turn signals are for decoration and not to be used because of course > everyone knows already where you are attempting to put your car. > Speed limits are really just suggestions, and amber traffic lights are a > challenge to the drivers ability to press down on the loud pedal. > I of course always obey the speed limit and immediately stop when I > encounter an amber light, yeah right!! To set things straight Buddy Cianci is alive and well he does a political television commentary everyday on a local television station.
