Wal-Mart is just doing what Wal-Mart does which is sell the MOST they can. They won't stock something that doesn't move in big numbers. I don't do Wal-Mart anymore, I can't tell you the last time I went, wait, I vaugely remember going last fall sometime looking for something I expected them to have and being bitterly disappointed... Anyway I buy all my oil from Autozone now. I wait for the $25 deal where I get 5 quarts and an oil filter. Then get a filter for my pickup (one was M1, the latest was Bosch) and put it in the truck when my wife takes it to Speedee to get an oil change and they take $5 off. Thus I get my 5qts for $4/qt. They seem to run the deal in the middle of the quarter every quarter. I've got about 10qts of 5w40 hanging around at any given time as I'm using it in the motorcycles now too. Awhile ago I was frustrated since they only ever had 10qts at a time at my local Autozone and it was hard to get since guys like me would buy them out. I posted a nastygram to the Autozone site and now tah dah! they always have it in stock. Oh and I have Autozone rewards so every 5th batch of oil gets me a $20 gift card. [MBZ] Mobil 1 at Walmart
While in W'Mart yesterday I noticed a couple of Gallon jugs of 5W40 Turbo/Diesel Oil on sale for 1/2 price of $11. Bought both gallons for the 300D ;-) but couldn;t find any other jugs. Is Walmart dropping this flavor of M1? Or is Mobil dropping it? As soon as I get really acclimated to someting it is taken away! Sheesh! Last time I was at Wal-Mart they did not have any M1 except 5W-30 in the big jugs. Looks like they are paring back their inventory of the stuff, at least locally. I picked up 3 5 qt. jugs of 15W-50 for the F-250 powerchoke oil change last week at W-mart. I happened to notice they had the W-mart logo on the jug. Apparently they are bottled especially for them?? I'm gonna check their other store for the TurboD stuff! I went to the local El Mercado de Wal last week and they had about 8 kinds of M1, and it was $22 a jug. I bought 3 10W30s (extended range) to change oil in 3 vehicles, they had the turbodiesel truck, 15W50, and all the other flavors too, lots of it.
