I've emailed this guy a few miles and he never responded. Its often listed
several ads at a time with descriptions that don't make sense. Its either
a scam or someone who is very confused.

I just sent the individual an email to attempt direct contact.

If the car is "as advertised" with 100 miles only, I will be most
interested, even at the asking price.

The stone is cast, let's see what ripples come to shore.

If he claims 30 mpg he's got to mean the engine was replaced and not driven.

I have a low-mile 300D that sat around for 20 years, and while the engine
has been reliable enough I've had to replace a lot of bits to keep it
operational, and it's got a long way to 100%. I would definitely rather
buy one that had been adequately maintained and driven weekly, with twice
or thrice the miles.

My dad bought a hunk o deetriot iron in the 70s that had sat around
and had 4000 miles in 10 years. It was a royal PITA. Stuff like WP,
motor mounts, and any rubber part kept failing. The engine failed
early. A 100,000 vehicle would have been probably better.

Sign up a dummy account for google voice, you can get a "local" number to
anyone, and have it forward to your real phone. After a couple months of
disuse it will revert.

Sounds like you shouldn't tell him you're on the other side of the
country...
