Pretty much. A really hard plastic sleeve that fits right over the 
shaft so the threads don’t tear up the shaft seal when you install it.

have, really makes the seal installation a piece of cake.

fleabay.  Prices were about the same, but no shipping charge on the 
fleabay one.
