Re: [MBZ] OT: Interesting Satellite Tech
It predates drones. There have been third party services that use Google Earth and other photo mapping services to look for changes to buildings and property. They sell the data to municipalities for identifying changes to properties. The county I lived in Indiana back in 2008-2011 used a survey service for the property appraiser like this to bust people for improvements to their property. I had a neighbor who put up a garden shed and within about three months they got a notice of reassessment. I believe they also got busted for not getting a permit, too. Of course, someone for the county could have taken notice or a neighbor could have ratted them out, too. -D > On Dec 18, 2020, at 8:18 AM, Buggered Benzmail via Mercedes > wrote: > > That’s already happening with “drones” surveilling properties for tax > violations > > --FT > Sent from iPhone > >> On Dec 18, 2020, at 8:04 AM, Meade Dillon via Mercedes >> wrote: >> >> That's pretty nasty. Drones are slow, tedious, compared to sitting at your desk and sending in your order to the satellite company, and the next day you get your images back for the entire county, which you can dissect at your leisure... - Max Charleston SC On Fri, Dec 18, 2020 at 8:19 AM Buggered Benzmail via Mercedes < mercedes@okiebenz.com> wrote: > That’s already happening with “drones” surveilling properties for tax > violations > > --FT > Sent from iPhone > > > On Dec 18, 2020, at 8:04 AM, Meade Dillon via Mercedes < > mercedes@okiebenz.com> wrote: > > > > That's pretty nasty. That's pretty nasty. I wonder if a jammer would be illegal. Funny how they try to couch the capability as something benign, that scientist will use to "save the earth", but they also do talk about military use. Now imagine your local tax auditor or county building code enforcement uses this to inspect your property and notify you that your new shed is out of code, or your property taxes are going up because the value of your property is higher than they thought. Even worse, you own a very nice piece of property in the country, and some enviro wackos decide you've got some protected species that only they can protect adequately and you end up fighting off The State and lawsuits and all kinds of harassment, because your privacy can be invaded at any time. - Max Charleston SC On Thu, Dec 17, 2020 at 6:06 PM Rick Knoble via Mercedes < mercedes@okiebenz.com> wrote: > https://futurism.com/new-satellite-buildings-day-night > > > Rick > ___ > http://www.okiebenz.com > > To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ > > To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: > http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com > > ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
