Both.
Regular GPS satellites circle Earth every 12 hours. A few special satellites
that broadcast correction data for WAAS & EGNOS are in geostationary orbits
above the equator.

I use a Garmin Glo GPS receiver to feed the non-GPS iPad in the airplane
via Bluetooth. It's a back-up to the primary dedicated GPS box. The Garmin
unit receives and uses both the US and the GLONASS satellites and seems to
work well.

2016-07-08 Thread archer75--- via Mercedes
Thanks, Fred. Both the $14.xx and the $28.xx models look interesting on
Banggood. I might order one for the back window (I have a $35 model from
Walmart for the dash that works well but haven't figured out all the buttons
yet).

I copied down minimal data on the dashcams for sale at the big Wildwood Florida
truck stop. I don't know if they are any better than Banggood, but as a brand,
I would go for Cobra, a S.Korean make with which I have years of experience.
The Cobra CB's I owned, back when CB's were all the rage, were practically
indestructible:

Standard Cobra Dashcam: $130 Cobra Dual (front and back) $220

Twister Pony Dashcam: $80 Twister Bluetooth: $160
Twister Ultra with Lane Departure, GPS, and Wifi: (About $3-400?)

Garmin GPS with Dashcam: $400 and $500

Gerry.

It was an impulse buy from Banggood. I'm not a russian scholar, or chinese for
that matter, so I can only report what is on the box.

2e1. 360 Full-BAND Scanning..

The "Manual" , a one sided sheet, indicates that it is a "Tachograph Manual".

In the specs. column the GPS Rx freq. is listed as 1575.42Mhz, making it the
GPS band. (USA).

Damfino.

Thanks for the reply.

I'd think that if Puta wanted to send his cruise missiles to the Good Ole USA,

I'll look up your reference to GLONASS.

I know that if it is looking for Russian satellites then they are probably
beyond the curvature of the Earth and not reachable from where you are.
Unless you are in Alaska, of course, apparently you can see Russia from the

The Russian satellites have to orbit the earth just like the US
satellites do. Yes, the Russian satellites are visible from the US.
