I've never had good experiences with airless sprayers. They work OK for
large flat surfaces like outdoor siding, textured ceilings, where
defects are hard to spot.
I am far from a pro painter, and it tends to be something I dislike
doing, but like most things that I *can* do, I'm ultimately resistant to
paying someone else to do it. For doors and trim I use a roller to get
the paint spread quickly and then a high-quality brush to even it
out. Using a brush alone I have trouble with areas starting to dry
before I can get the next area blended smoothly. Maybe I should look
into additives that slow the drying speed.
