[MBZ] OT Drug Costs
Just to continue this a bit further. I use a puffer for asthma - or allergies - take your pick. Morning and Night, I take a puff from a little cylinder in an orange plastic holder. I have paid anywhere from $8 to $45 for the same thing at pharmacies that are only a few blocks apart. The big chain stores charge the most. We are getting little one man independent pharmacies in medical clinics. They are the ones who undercut the big places. I was amazed when I used the small shop as I had been buying at the big one. A friend takes a fair amount of medication. He found that he could get a better price at the small ones and approached the owner of the one of the big places and said he would continue buying there as he always had if they matched the price. It's getting so competitive I am amazed some of these places survive. We have a friend who is a pharmacist for one of the major drugstore chains, and the horror stories they tell us about things like quotas and up selling people on stuff is scary.
