Despite one part (the extra ring / spacer) left over, the pump ran for
about five hours straight with no issues. I'm calling it a success for now.

I just re-started the pump after about 60 hours of sitting, and it had held
its prime and resumed providing water to my redneck sprinkler system
(buried garden hoses, soaker hoses, and one sprinkler hidden so the HOA
won't ding me for leaving garden hoses out) with no issues.

I did learn that the local Ace hardware store that originally sold me the
pump has a resident expert, and if I'd brought him the box of parts, he
probably could have told me exactly how it goes together.

A couple years ago I took apart the well pump motor to replace bearings,
and now I've got bearings and I'm ready to put it all back together.

However, too many parts and not enough memory of how they all fit back
together.

Anyone know of a site that has exploded diagrams for GE motors?

Sorry, Max, I do not know of such a site.

Perhaps if you post pictures we can collectively figure it out.
