I had the ABS light on when I bought the wagon, found some sensors out
of a 201 wreck and ze light went off and has stayed off ever since.
My understanding is that the system does a self diagnoses test when it
reaches a certain speed (5km/h?) and if the system fails the light goes on.
However the S124 is due for a service and I shall check the three
sensors and will do a road text to see if the ABS is working as it should.

The symptoms are that the ABS fires it's test shot and then the brakes slowly

The brakes work fine otherwise but it seems like their is something going on
with the ABS, I might try pulling the relay from the system to see what
happens, perhaps give the sensors a clean.
It's like the system thinks that the wheels have stopped turning and wants to
release the wheels but when in fact the wheels have not locked up.
