I'll be curious to see what you will get. I'll keep you posted as I negotiate.

I've been wondering about ESP lately.
If you put it to work, the brakes wear out, and does it just let you go faster
before you lose control?

If you can manage to not up the speed when driving with ESP, it should be a big
help when things start to go wrong.

They couldn't find anything remotely similar that was driveable

It doesn't matter that I only paid $100 for mine, plus several
hundred in parts over the years. (And countless hours welding.)

Bonus that I am still driving it. Maybe somebody else will

I'm not sure that would have helped. She would have remained upright, but
would have plowed into whatever was ahead of the split in the offramp.

She was on I-40 westbound and was trying to get to Coors Blvd southbound.

The goons at Liberty mutual would not play ball when my e300d got hit. That is
a very rare model compared to the e320. They had to do a national search and
only found two comparable. They took three months to get to the $9500, after
trying to low ball at 4200 (based on a 320)

Hold out for what you think it is worth until you get a chance to look at CL
and Fleabay, then check a few car lots for their asking price. If you have
USAA, use some of their software to find a replacement.

I looked at those pics, glad she made it through mostly functional.

What was the reason for the crash?

[MBZ] Play Taps for a W124

2015-03-13 Thread Craig via Mercedes
I'm glad Shirley wasn't in the passenger side!

I was able to snag the belly pan I had taken off earlier when Shirley
bumped up against a parking place tire stop, the trunk carpet, the lug
wrench, the bulbs from the right tail light assembly (I forgot about the
left side), and all of our personal effects.

I had thought of getting the rims (they are 16" W201 rims), but looking at
the left front, I decided to pass.

Now I get to hassle with the insurance adjuster.

Does anyone have any examples of '95 E320s to establish a price?

Thanks,

Craig
