Re: [MBZ] QoD
Speaking of not perfect, the 1985 300CD trunk lid won't close properly. I have to set the lid down and then press HARD to get it to close. Otherwise, it just bounces back up when I slam it down the usual way. Is there anything to lube to get it to be more obedient? You could try squirting the latch with a little oil, but it could well be that the latch is just misadjusted. -- Jim
Re: [MBZ] QoD
Wal-Mart sells a Lubricating Gel which is like -15F 15w40 motoroil. I sprayed some of that on the hood latch when it was sticky and it free'd it right up. I also put some in Hammie's balky door lock which became smooth as silk. I was nervous that the stuff would get impossible to turn in cold weather but at 1F it was only a little stiff and definately not any worse than than other vehicles I've had. -Curt '83 240D Hammie 249kmi '85 190D 233kmi Date: Thu, 15 Dec 2005 16:34:00 -0800 From: Jim Cathey [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [MBZ] QoD To: Mercedes mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] Message-ID: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; format=flowed Speaking of not perfect, the 1985 300CD trunk lid won't close properly.
