I still think the W126 was the best car Benz ever made. No rust issues, drove beautifully, and my brother got 29 mpg on his. While the W210s are probably the most bulletproof modern Benz, there’s nothing like a long wheelbase W126 to cruise in. Wonderful cars, definitely my most favorite Mercedes of them all. -D > On Nov 21, 2020, at 6:23 PM, Buggered Benzmail via Mercedes > wrote: > > I gratified myself today by first driving a 43yo Benz 280E to the C&C which > was a nice experience. [MBZ] Self-gratification
I gratified myself today by first driving a 43yo Benz 280E to the C&C which was a nice experience. I had not driven a 123 in awhile and this one actually drives pretty well. It was fun, 123s are cool cars. It’s a gasser so that is a new experience. Then this afternoon I cleaned up the 36yo 300SD and took it for a spin around the neighborhood then to the grocery store. The parking lot was full of Yankees driving like fools in their big new SUVs and trying to park them. A stinky diesel fit in nicely. The 126 just feels like a big comfortable solid cruiser whereas the 123 feels more nimble for fun driving. Different tools for different jobs I guess. --FT Sent from iPhone ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

In 2018 Angie and I got to walk under a Saturn V at the US Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville. The thing about the Saturn V is that you walk under it, and then keep walking under it for what feels like forever, the dang thing just goes on and on. I got thinking about the lunatics that strapped themselves on to the tippy top of that monster. Lunatics might not be a strong enough term. -Curt On Thursday, August 13, 2020, 1:44:18 PM EDT, Rick Knoble via Mercedes wrote: I you look at the video, he says the Saturn rocket was 0-42 mph in ten seconds.
