That is a matter of perspective. It uses prior German engineering (190DT) to 
overcome
problems with later German engineering (W124 EDS system). Better? Above my pay 
grade to answer.
More reliable? Yes. Easier for the backyard mechanic to troubleshoot? Yes.

My 90 300D 2.5t is the best car I ever owned. Friend is still driving it
over 300k miles. I love my E320  4matic but could be tempted by a nice 124

I also noticed in the pictures, the injection lines have no mounting brackets 
or supports. That means whoever worked on it, probably doesn't know what they 
are doing. It has also had the AMG Dave/GSXR turbo mod. Meaning the waste gate 
is mechanical and not electronic (probably a good thing). I'd offer $1500.
