I'm thinking about buying one to allow me to get this damned throttle return
spring back in place. They look pretty decent, and even have a built in light
and accessories such as a hook, magnet and mirror

Borescope. Guy at work bought the nicer hazard fraught model, with camera and
light, said it works pretty slick. He needed it to look in a wall for hooking
up a dryer.

I have the more expensive of the two models they sold a couple of years ago
- it works great where it will fit. It doesn't work so great with the right
angle mirror - I think it's trying to focus on the mirror or something. I
used it when checking the oil pick-up tube in the O-470 Continental and
when cleaning the wing for the installation of a new fuel bladder. For the
latter job, a cheap web cam and a laptop worked better - wider angle of
view.

These look exactly like my Milwaukee borescope that I received as a gift
several years ago. I just now checked it, and it still works.
I would guess it is the same tool or a Chinese knockoff.

I'll send it to you (or you can drive up and get it) if you like and you can
keep it until I need it, which I rarely do.
