Re: [MBZ] Vergasser engines
The 560 uses separate belts. Don't forget this engine was basically a design from the early 70's. The 119 uses serp. The M119 uses the serpentine belt. As for dimensions I couldn’t say. I can’t imagine there’s much of a difference size-wise between the three. If there are dimensions I can measure for you let me know. Dan > On Jan 26, 2017, at 1:18 AM, Curley McLain via Mercedes > wrote: > > > does anyone know the dimensions for the various vergasser v8s? [MBZ] Vergasser engines
does anyone know the dimensions for the various vergasser v8s? I am wondering about motor mounts, transmission mating etc for M117 or M119 vs M116. I know a M117 will fit inthe space, but it is terribly crowded, so I have been looking for a good M116. What are the physical differences between M119 4.2 and a M116 4.2? In the FL 420SEL disaster, I found out that even in 1990, they were still using 5 belts on the vergasser in place of the one serp belt as on the OM603. That is a minus. Did the M117 560 use a whole boatload of belts or a serp belt? I'd guess the M119 uses the serp belt.
