My shop manuals are buried I know not where in the midst of our household
goods as we prepare to move to Indiana, so I'm asking here:

Does someone have a copy of the electrical schematic that shows the
emergency/turn signal flasher and how it hooks up to the car's wiring?

I'm beginning to think my flasher has a bad capacitor, but I'll need to
have something working to go get a replacement capacitor.

 Thanks,

 Craig

Thank you, Fred, for the PDF of two pages of 83-300. That shows exactly
what I need. Hopefully the 240D's wiring is the same as that of the 300D
in this area.

Thank you, Scott. Yes, it does have what I need (on page 112). It also
has a lot of other electrical schematics which might be helpful in the
future.

I can compare page 112 to what Fred sent.

Let me look at manuals here.

Fred sent a PDF and Scott send a link to another PDF, so I think I have
all I need. Thank you.

Thanks for letting us know that the emergency flashers are the turn
signal flashers - we have super fast turn signal flashers. Can we
expect emergency flashers to flash super fast like the turn signal
 flashers?

I think the super fast turn signal flashers is due to a bulb burned out.
Put on the emergency flashers and take a walk around the car to make sure
everything is working as it should.

The PDF on the StarTek site for the 240D shows the flasher as a part of
the hazard switch.

The PDF Fred sent shows the flasher as a separate component with wires to
the hazard switch, which is what my car has.

Perhaps the StarTek site shows the wiring for an early 240D, while mine
is a relatively late one.

Craig: Go to this site:
http://www.startekinfo.com/StarTek/outside/12265/disc_2/program/matrix6.htm
Then follow the menus to your exact year/model and go to the ETM (electronic
troubleshooting manual).
