But I'm interested in talking with you about some other parts.

I need to get my list together, but first I need to go to bed.

Probably, but I was driving by Sacramento. And the color matches the rest
of the car, so I don't have to do any painting. That would shift the price
balance significantly away from even free parts.

Best PnP or bone yard in Seattle are the Pull a Part in Lynnwood
north of Seattle, and the other yard in Tacoma. Great prices and
usually a benz or two.

For newer models (last 25 years) try Aurora Auto Wrecking. Closer to
retail prices, but they have lots of newer iron.

is the place where I got a replacement fender and hood for my '82

[MBZ] WHERE ARE THE GOOD US BONE YARDS??

2007-05-15 Thread BillR
Mak - I'll ask the list folks for the best places to find 'good' junkyards,
but for the most part it will be out of the 'rust belt' - which Cleveland is
in. You can just about go with the places that put salt on the roads in
Winter, and unless a previous owner was very careful the car will have at
least some rust. That used to be the case in costal areas also - at least
for people who spent time at the beach, and to a degree still is, though I
don't see the rust-bucket cars like I used to. Desert or dry areas are
probably the best places to find good bone yards - Arizona, Texas, etc, and
most of Florida and other warm areas.
The best thing to do is to ask the list: List folks - Mak has a Lancia
Flavia coupe, a 220S/1962, 230/1966, 280SE/1970 and a 300SE 1990. He is
looking for mostly small interior parts [I think - Mak, chime in here].

Bill I will be in Cleveland Ohio , plan to stay there and get a check up
for my diabetic condition at the Cleveland clinic.
If you suggest California for used parts then I will make a trip . I have
never been there before so will be interesting.
New Parts I will order from Rusty, which I have been doing for many
years, but will be will be grateful for any tips you may have for used
parts.

For only $450 one gets a' see America' ticket and one can avail it for a

round the USA trip ,. Very generous, and available with a foreign passport

only!

On the way back I will stop in London and spend some time with my daughter

escaping the 'heat and dust' of our dreaded summers!
I believe your area is pleasantly nice to stay year round.
